OFFICIAL RULES
and REGULATIONS
Introduction
We are growing! We want a new logo!
And, we want community involvement – local or global!
Thank you for your interest in Many Paths World Service and its logo design and brand competition. We’re ready to begin a new chapter in our history, and, to mark the occasion, we look for worldwide recognition in how we brand our organization in a way that represents and facilitates our mission and vision for a new world.
Summary
Eligibility
Open to individual competition only. Two (2) independent works may be submitted by each individual. No entry fee or donation required. No entries by groups, companies, educational institutions, organizations, etc. will be accepted for Round 1. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Jury panelists and their immediate family members are not eligible nor is any MPWS staff, board or advisory member or their immediate family members.
All individuals, other than those aforementioned, are eligible, but we encourage advanced design students to enter. For students currently enrolled in higher educational institutions, the Grand Prize will be awarded as a scholarship given directly on the student’s behalf, for her/his benefit, to the enrolling institution. Before such an award is made, confirmation of enrollment is necessary or if the student has graduated in a degreed or certificated course of study after entering this contest, a confirmed graduation date must be provided. Otherwise, the Grand Prize is awarded directly to individuals.
Design
The winning logo will be used online, in print, on merchandise and all other promotional, instructional and informational materials. Flexibility is a key requirement, including the need to resize easily onto large printed banners or down to small web icons. All logos must appear flawless, without distortion, in black and white, grayscale, as well as color. The final versions of the logos must be suitable for high quality printing.
The logos and design concepts in the left sidebar may give some indication as to the direction for future designs; however, none of these should be considered absolute so as to remain open to creative inspiration. Other design elements on this website may also be indicative of taste and style. Please read about Many Paths World Service throughout this site or, for future plans, read our 2012 Business Development Plan for greater clarity and design direction.
Technical and Aesthetic design criteria, however, is provided below.
Jury
The selection jury is composed of experts and nonprofit industry leaders appointed by Many Paths World Service. The jury will award designs and concepts which best meet the judging criteria mentioned in this brief. Submissions should be the entrant’s own creation, shall not currently be in production and shall not previously have been published or exhibited.
The winning design will be selected by the jury and their decision will be final. No further correspondence shall be entered into. Many Paths World Service reserves the right not to select a winner if, in its sole discretion, no suitable entries are received. Many Paths World Service reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant or Entry at its sole discretion. No correspondence shall be entered into. The winner will be required to sign a contract assigning all ownership of the logo to Many Paths World Service before the Grand Prize is awarded. Accepting the prize constitutes permission for Many Paths World Service to make public and otherwise use winner’s name, and country of residence for publicity purposes. Further personal data may be requested but is not required.
Honorable Mentions: All entrants will receive an official thank you letter from the MPWS Board of Directors for their creatively inspired efforts with possible public exhibition of all submitted entries at the organization’s discretion.
